Occasionally I need to travel distance to do some scheduled work for the team. This time I flew to Geraldton for a night.
I had never been to Geraldton before hence this trip was kind of adventure to me. My flight was around 2:30pm and I touched down at Geraldton around 3:40pm. I got my rental car and drove straight to my motel to check in, thinking that I won't have change to come back until after 8:30pm the night. Btw, its call Batavia Motor INN.
I got my keys and drove to the depot office. I spent about 2 and a half hours in the office, do the usual work and wait and work thingy. A local staff then suggested me to visit a few places after that, BUT NOT TO WALK ALONE at night especially around my motel. Of coz I will keep that in mind.
After finishing the work on depot office, I did drive around. I went to the Sydney Memorial Park, drive around the town, stopped at a KFC with 2 security guilds in front of the door. I bought my dinner, and then drove to the cinema in the town, hoping to get myself a ticket for Mr Bean for the night. Unfortunately, its not showing after 9pm. SO a headed back to the motel with my chickens.
After dinner and shower, I can hear the noises from the street from my room. Apparently there is a pub or club nearby. I decided to stay at my room for the rest of the night.
The next day I went to the main office after checkout. DAmn the motel staff was charging to my credit card for the cost of the accommodation + also $10 for the coffee made by cold water and 2 slides of bread. Thinking that I can always claim for it I just paid and walked away. I assisted the network guy in the office till after lunch. After said goodbye to them I then went to the only shopping center to walk walk. Had my lunch there and then drove around in the town again before heading the airport.
I can say there are some places I wanted to explorer in Geraldton, like the big windmill farm I can see from the sky, the motoplex center, etc etc. I might drive up there one day, after I change my car maybe? :)
