Canon Ixus 65 versus Nikon D50

So this special friend of mine is into photography as well. She likes to take pictures and she is using an Ixus 65. I had a chance to play with the camera before and I was impressed with the macro focusing ability and build quality.

When we shots the fireworks on Australia day, we both using tripod at first and later on she gave up and shot most of the shots without tripod. She was using fireworks scene come with the Ixus 65 mode.

Lets have a look of a couple of shots she showed me. ( and I posted those pics here without her consent, but nevermind, I knew she won't read my blog. :P)

No touch up, only cropping to fill the frame. Not bad hey?? Not much camera shake (consider that Izus 65 doesn't come with IS feature and of coz the photographer's hand must be very stable) and hardly notice any digital noises. Very impressed. Time to look for a consumer camera seriuosly as my backup camera.

Australian Days Firework

There seems to be not much of big fireworks phototaking opportunity in Australia apart from Australian day, Perth Royal Show and New year eve. Now that Dad and Sis is here, I will of coz brought them along to the fireworks. Not only that, I also brought along a very special friend of mine. Which made this year's Australia day a very special one to me.

Friends always says I take good fireworks. But I have seem far better one. So I always response and tell them its because I have a good camera, lousy excuses.

Anyway, here are the link to the fireworks for Australian Days.

Dad and Sis are HEREEEEEEE

Ok, I am oncall this week but it had been a quiet week. Only a few calls from other team oncalls, and a few helpdesk enquiries. arhh.. what am I talking about? oh yes, dad and sis will be here. They are arriving 7pm today via Brunei Airline. Very exciting.

I have been prepared for their arrival since I was back from KK. Cleaning up my garden, free up my rooms, buying new cupboard, desk and chairs for my sister, throw out all my expired foods, hide all my x-rated movie collections, getting prepaid sim cards, car GPS. Whuuuaaaa.. big money. Not mention that I am installing an evaporative cooler coming Wednesday and that was quoted A$3250.

$$$$$$$$

Well, lets hope the bank of Malaysia will take care of my remaining expenses for the rest of the stay. :P

Ok time to go.
