Donuts

Don't know when its actually started. Donuts become part of our office culture, apart from the Hula gal.

New kids on the block, donuts. Birthdays, donuts. Farewell, donuts, and then there is once people are doing "gold coin" contribution to donuts where you pay 1 or 2 dollars and someone will go and get the donuts.

Situation is getting better. People are getting donuts once or twice in a week for NOTHING for the past few weeks. I guess someone is getting paid too much?

I am counting, I think I have already had more then a dozen of donuts for free since this year. ermm.. maybe its my turn to contribute soon. Anyway, till then, I will enjoy my donuts. :P

The Story of Hula Girl

Some say the hula girl was left over by an ex-colleague to spy on us, and if you turn it on it will transmit a signal of some sort to the closest satellite. Other say it’s the charming doll of the team, who will look after our daily operations in the team.

But, its really has the role of an incident memorial. That’s right, whoever that is done something silly, significant enough to cause impacts to the production systems own it, until the next incident and someone "claims" it. Well, there is really no need for them to claim it. For the past few incidents the doll were automatically placed to the desk of the next owner.

And yea... no need to guess. I am having the honour to own it now.

Carnavon Trip

North trip.. yea.. fun fun fun.. well, not really. Its another work trip up north. This time I went to Carvarvon. Its a bloody small town at Coral Coast region, 904 kilometers north of Perth.

There were new housing area along the beach, 2 rows of shop next to the beach, a Chicken Treat, an IGA, one petrol station, a harbour, a few cafe, etc etc.. you get the "small" idea. Due to the "flooding" characteristics of this region, there are a few crops that are popular here, e.g. banana.

From the air there are two significant landmarks. i.e. the Carnarvon Heritage Precinct and the satellite communications dish.

There is other 2 "attractions" to mention here. The first is really obvious but not that obvious. It is the "flooding" effect of the region, you can see the region is full of flooding zone in rain season.

The second is the blow holes. It is about 70kms north of Carnarvon. Its not a long drive and you get to see what you mostly missed the Albany one.

The whole trip last about 28 hours with a delayed flight back to Perth, in a wet weather.
