Day before yesterday, yesterday and today must be the most exciting days for the Anime, Manga, and Sci Fi fans. Supanova is in town and there was chance to meet hundreds of Cosplay cartoon figures. This shot was taken in the Cosplay Contest.




The venue was pack of young people. You can see people dressed like Star Trek actors, Starwars army, Naruto figures and even the Hormer Simpson in the croud. There were also stalls selling Managa, Anime, action figures and games.

I have never been to such an expo before. It was quite entertaining at last. :)

So the MAC OSX look dock huh? I can still recall I was trying to get a similar feel in my Windows XP back to last year and it was awful. To set it up in Ubuntu I followed this instructions. All easy easy. After customized it a bit my desktop now looks like this. While, not bad for a few hours work huh?

I got my wireless working an hours ago. I am still testing the battery life since 12:40am. The time now is 2:25am and my laptop battery status shows 28% with 33 minutes left. So I guess I have about 2 hours and 5-10 minutes on a single charge with my 6 cells battery. Not very impressed.

Anyway, I managed to apply a few more tricks on my laptop since last hours. The first was to install a simple compiz config package:

apt-get install sim-ccsm

That will install 2 wizards, the Simple CompizConfig Setting Manager and Advanced Desktop Effects Settings under System > Preference. That allows me to turn on/off a hell lot of features. I don't even know what are most of them do. But when I was looking at the key combination, I noticed a "super" key, which is the key with a MS WINDOWS logo on it. I tried the Ring Switcher effects which requires it and it didn't appear to be working out of the box. So I added the following line under the InputDevice section at /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Option "XkbOptions" "altwin:super_win"



Well, they are now works better. I am yet to figure out how to enable the MAC OS X feel dock. Shouldn't be hard. Will find that out later today.
