New Toy - HTC Touch Pro

So I have been hunting around for a HTC Touch Pro. Why TP you may asked? There are others touch screen phone like Touch Diamond, iPhone, Samsung i900, Sony Ericson Xperia1, LG KS20 etc etc.. and I was using a N95, which can do everything I need to do, including casual photographing with the 5 mega pixels camera, Fring everywhere even VOIP over the mobile network. I have also used the Nokia as my modem at home while iiNet decided to play around with my broadband a few weeks ago. No complaint.

There is just something not right. No not the phone, its more like I felt that I need something new to play with. Something I am sure I won't regret (or if I do, I can resale it easily). So I started to read about iphone and Touch Diamond. I have no problem with iphone, but I had a ipod touch, iphone multi touch interface is nothing new to me. In fact I have been using the iTouch last year while I was transiting KLIA for like more then 5 hours just to chat with my friend on Meebo. I quite like the interface, but if I am getting something to kill my boredom, iphone is definately not on my list. That left with Touch Diamond.

One thing that I don't like about the iphone, is that it comes without a proper keypad. And if you use the on screen keyboard more than half of the screen will be blocked by it. That can be quite annoying sometimes. Especially when I want to do some serious typing. I just wish I can see more of what I have typed. So here it is, HTC Diamond with a keypad, the HTC Touch pro.

Coming from a user of Nokia N95, I don't think the TP is bulky at all. In fact, like N95, it hold quite nicely on my hand. The only difference is, with the touch screen interface, I can navigate the features without going through the left, left, up, up, up, call button, left and call button.

The performance is a mixture of disappointment and ok. I was surprised that the TP interface is quite lagging consider it has a considering powerful processor and memory. After a few hours of reading up the forums, I have applied the tweaks and now it is reasonably faster than in stock mode.

Sony Erricson T650i FOR SALE

Early this year I renewed my Three plan and got a new phone. I planned to give it to my sister when she was here. She always wanted a LG Prada and Prada was one of the hot phone Three was promoting.

When I talked to the Singaporean (seems to have lot of Singaporean running Three in Perth) salesman, he recommended Sony T650i instead, suggesting that if I was renewing my plan, I will get a $15 loyalty discount, and T650i was the latest phone on the shelf for $29 cap.

So I got the T650i instead. I quite like the slim design of the phone, not super powerful like my N95 but it did come with lots of extra features then making and receiving phone calls. :P

Seriuosly, the earpiece for example, it was one of the stylist earphone I had ever seen. Giving that it is a Sony, which makes Walkman and Discman and mp3 player and camera and now phone, you won't let down by using one of the latest phone. And it had the 2 games (and only 2) then kept me entertained for a few days at home before I passed on the phone to my sister.

Since then the phone was off the market. I can't seem to find them on any of the website. No one actually talk about it. Maybe the heat of iphone and HTC diamond were seriuosly over the top of the other phone.

Anyway, the purposes of this post is really to put some of the shots I took tonight for the potential buyer of the phone. So here is it...

It is still in very good condition apart from the normal wear and tear. ermm.. also I have just noticed the crack on the right top corner of the phone (shown on the fifth picture)

Whoever going to get it will like it. I am actually deciding if I should keep the phone as a backup. Having said that I believe my N95 will probably worth less now. So I should really keep my N95. $$$
